Hilo's newest museum, Mokupapapa, the Discovery Center for Hawaii's Remote Coral Reefs opened in June at the S. Hata Building on Kamehameha Avenue. It which features a 2,500-gallon salt-water aquarium, touch-screen technology, video "vignettes" and hands on exhibits that allow visitors to explore reef life.
